In depth

Verdict

Just five runners here but a tricky race to assess, Fair Question is given a narrow vote, with Lawyer Des Ormeaux and Ballyboley the likely dangers. The selection had a light hurdles campaign last season but earned a rating of 130. He will no doubt have been well schooled by his astute handler and may have too much class for these rivals. Lawyer Des Ormeaux has taken well to fencing and wasn't beaten far behind a Paul Nicholls hotpot last time. If the selection has trouble with the fenecs this could be the one to take advantage. Ballyboley is making his chase debut following three proising runs over hurdles. He is from a top yard and has to be respected. However Fair Question was better than these over the smaller obstacles and he can make a winning start to his fencing career.
