In depth
Verdict
Imps Way can make his experience over the regulation fences tell here, with Scottish Roots, Pure Steel and Mid Summer Lark others in with a shout. Quite a few of these have been busy between the flags but it is a different kettle of fish facing the larger obstacles, and so Imps Way gets the vote. He was a distant third to the very much in-form Lancastrian Jet at Market Rasen last month, but kept tabs on Henry Daly's charge until three out, and there is certainly nothing of that calibre in this line-up today. Scottish Roots produced his best hunter-chase form when third to Omni Cosmo Touch at Sedgefield in February and has a squeak, while Pure Steel has been in action in point-to-points. Mid Summer Lark had shown little between the flags but ran really well behind Black Smoke at Carlisle recently, the fitting of a visor helping no doubt. He can make the frame, but for the winner we return to Imps Way.
