Verdict
THE DUKE'S SPEECH is selected ahead of Wee Forbees and Woody Valentine. This represents a massive drop in grade for Ferdy Murphy's charge and while he has not been sighted on the track for a while, he looks to have too much class for this grade. Wee Forbees was a bit disappointing last time out. He is at his most effective when his hooves will rattle. Woody Valentine drops in trip. He is frustrating to follow though if consenting to put his best foot forward, he has to be considered a player. Along The Nile has won plating events at Catterick and Southwell during the spring. He was recently beaten in a seller on the flat. Prioryjo won well at Sedgefield in similar company. The figures suggest he has a bit to find here but he has a smart 7lb conditional booked. The remainder would be better off were this a handicap. The Duke's Speech has taken on much better company than this and if retaining any of that ability, he will take plenty of beating.
