Verdict
Not the best of races to kick off the card but it could be competitive nonetheless. Likely favourite is the recent Sedgefield winner Only Words who put in a much improved performance over 17f under Jim Crowley. Conditions should suit and he still looks on a decent mark. The TEAMtalk selection here however is the consistent Bobs Buster who ran some decent races over this course and distance last season following an unsuccessful spell over fences. At his best Beckdale looks well handicapped for Andy Turnell and if he can reproduce the form he showed at Market Rasen last season he has an outstanding chance. Setting Sun is stepping back in trip from recent efforts and is capable over this trip. Lord Transcend goes well fresh and there was much to like about his win at Newcastle last season. If on song first time out he could go well.
