In depth

MIAH GRACE (NAP) won easily here in October then just failed to hold off Big Bad Bear in a better race at Wetherby. She has to concede her penalty to hurdling newcomer Legends Ryde, who won a Carlisle bumper before beaten 2 lengths in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham. Experience may just win out on this occasion while another Carlisle bumper winner, Stainsby Girl, was beaten a long way into second on her hurdling bow at Ayr. Sophie Fatale was a 66/1 chance on her debut over timber here in March but belied her odds with a fine run behind the long odds-on Lord Yeats with the remainder beaten a long way. Sandy Thomson's mare would be a threat if ready after her long absence.

Miah Grace 2-1 (10-10) Led, hit 2nd, headed 2 out, chased winner, ridden and held run-in, hung right towards finish, 2nd of 6, 1 1/2l behind Big Bad Bear (10-12) at Wetherby 2m (2) sft in Nov.

Baby Jane (IRE) 16-1 (10-12) Mid-division, headway halfway, effort over 2f out, no extra when hung left approaching final furlong, 5th of 9, 12 3/4l behind She's A Rocca (10-12) at Ayr 2m (5) hvy in Nov.

Frankies Fire 50-1 (10-7) Always in rear, lost touch 5 out, tailed off, 12th of 13, dist behind Do Not Disturb (11-0) at Kelso 2m mdn (4) gs in Oct.

Heatherlea (IRE) 125-1 (10-5) Keen, tracked leaders, weakened over 2f out, eased, 9th of 10, dist behind Unohu (10-12) at Newcastle 2m (5) hvy in Nov.

Legends Ryde 4-1 (11-0) Tracked leader, led over 3f out, hard pressed turning in, ridden and headed over 1f out, kept on, 2nd of 11, 2l behind Urban Artist (11-0) at Cheltenham 2m lst (1) sft in Nov.

Milanvera (IRE) 18-1 (10-12) In touch, headway over 4f out, soon chasing leaders, weakened over 2f out, last of 9, 25 1/2l behind She's A Rocca (10-12) at Ayr 2m (5) hvy in Nov.

Peace Approved (IRE) 66-1 (8-11) Soon led, headed after 4f and 2nd halfway, ridden and no impression 2f out, no extra over 1f out, weakened, 12th of 14, 10 1/4l behind Lady De Vesci (9-13) at Dundalk 1m 3f pol in Nov.

Sophie Fatale 66-1 (10-8) Held up off the pace in 5th, mistake 3rd, headway into 3rd before 2 out, 2nd on long run after 2 out, never any chance with winner, 2nd of 7, 5l behind Lord Yeats (11-7) at Hexham 2m (4) hvy in Mar.
