      Verdict

      Leading Score sets the standard with a handicap mark of 108 but has come up short in similar maiden company so far. Point-to-point winner THE PIERRE LARK ran well in a bumper on debut under Rules at Bangor and the half-brother to useful winning hurdler Washington Lad may well prove good enough on his first start over hurdles. Huehuecoytle ran well at Sedgefield in December and has a shout on that form while Smart Boy is expected to improve now jumping having failed to figure in a bumper at Wetherby.
