In depth
Verdict
Bearaway was good value for his win at Newton Abbot last week and is taken to defy his 11lb rise for that success and follow up at the main expense of Bob's Buster and Green Finger. The last mentioned has shown gradual improvement in recent starts for trainer John Quinn and has to be considered under conditions that suit. He makes more appeal than fellow eight-year-old Schoolhouse Walk, who would probably prefer a softer surface. Hollows Mill has been running into form of late but is another that may want more cut in the ground and a bigger threat is likely to come from the consistent Bob's Buster although he may be a shade high in the weights now. An 11lb rise for his recent success looks harsh for Bearaway but there was no doubting the ease of that success and Don McCain's gelding is taken to follow up here.
