Verdict

Ferdy Murphy's Rarchnamara has failed to complete in his last two starts but has been given a break since last seen, and is sure to have been well schooled so cannot be ruled out, but we prefer to side with Hades De Sienne, who should be well suited by this extreme test of stamina. The selection is a consistent performer and his best efforts have been over trips in excess of three miles so he looks the best bet in a moderate event. At the bottom end of the handicap, Peter Beaumont's Young Claude has to be respected, along with Mary Reveley's Always Something, who has had a light campaign. Andy Crook's Trooper is well treated on his best and is another worthy of a mention, while Richard Guest's runners always warrant respect so Red Perk is worth keeping an eye on. However, Hades De Sienne holds solid claims and gets the vote.
