    In depth

    Verdict

This looks less competitive than the race in which LUCKY JIM (NAP) finished a decent fourth at Wetherby. Kieron Edgar's claim will help his cause in this and he should go close. Mercoeur never threatened the winner when third in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las in December while Notnowsam has been well beaten either side of landing a juvenile hurdle at Catterick in the same month. Top Of The Glas was returned a losing favourite at Carlisle on Saturday and is proving difficult to place and the remaining pair are harder to recommend.
