In depth
Verdict
A competitive race, as you would expect for the money, and the vote goes to Alrafid ahead of Golano, Idole First and Buck Whaley. Spinning through the field and Borora has had a good season but might be vulnerable now off topweight, while Turbo was disappointing on his hurdling debut last time and is hard to fancy on that basis. Golano was driven out to score at Warwick and, on the upgrade, he should go well. Idole First has a similar profile, having won at Market Rasen and could be interesting, while Haditovski bounced back to form at Newbury last time and should run his race again from the front. Alrafid's second to Atahuelpa at Windsor last time could be construed as very good form, while Sharmy comes here with his confidence high following a Folkestone chasing win, although this hurdles contest is a different kettle of fish altogether. Mister Arjay often nicks some money but Buck Whaley is another that comes here on the back of a good win, at Uttoxeter, and with his stable now getting back among the winners, is another to seriously consider. He could well provide the biggest danger to the selection, which is Alrafid.
