In depth

Verdict

Another tricky puzzle to unravel. Gibbes Bay and Le Dauphin represent top yards but have a bit to prove at present. Bandon Roc, a past winner here, got back to winning ways at Towcester and goes on the short-list. Sackett arrives in good form and Colt Lightning failed to handle the heavy going when on a hat-trick at Exeter. Bonnet's Vino looks the pick of Pam Sly’s pair and the returning Bodega should be monitored for any market support as he has winning form in a higher grade. SARTENE’S SON should probably have won before now but he continues to slip down the weights and there may be some improvement to come over a longer trip on this better ground. Mab Dab won easily at Fontwell last month and the second went close at Warwick on Monday so he deserves respect, despite an 8lb rise.
