      Verdict

A low key start to proceedings which could see Harley get the better of Esquillon and Rosie's Glory. Pam Sly's ten year-old had been off the course for over two years prior to his reappearance at Market Rasen in December where he looked likely to take a hand in the finish until tiring two from home. He's been given plenty of time to recover from those exertions and this looks less competitive. Rosie's Glory has yet to show a great deal but the combination of a drop in grade and first time blinkers could bring about the required improvement. One with more obvious claims though is Esquillon. Pat Haslam's mare has found only one too strong in similar contests the last twice and should be thereabouts again but Harley appeals as the likelier winner.
