In depth

Verdict

A decent performer on the level when with Godolphin, Scriptwriter showed enough on his hurdling debut at Wetherby and Howard Johnson's gelding is taken to open his account here, getting the verdict ahead of Charlie Tokyo and Berwick Law. The last mentioned won both starts in bumpers and progressed from his first effort over hurdles when chasing home All For The Cause at Newcastle. Proven with cut in the ground, he has to be respected. Alan Swinbank's Starting Point may struggle under his penalty, while Best Prospect has to be of interest on his debut over hurdles. Richard Fahey's Charlie Tokyo is another interesting recruit from the level and has to be respected but Scriptwriter has the advantage of having already raced over hurdles and he is preferred.
