Verdict

Former average Australian runner Stawell Gift makes a debut for Nick Littmoden, but the trainer has few winners over jumps and is watched on first outing. Polmar is a useful performer over fences and if transferring that ability to hurdles then he could be the one to beat. Body Gold was a useful winner of a Group 2 on the flat in Argentina when he was younger but disappointed last year after a move to Peter Makin. He has switched yards again but there are no guarantees a step-up in trip and a first go over the jumps will be beneficial. The trip and ground shouldn't be an issue for Teenage Kicks and Iceman George should be respected if building on some decent flat efforts and improving his jumping. Ben Cee Pee M won well in a bumper at Towcester in May and he has had some summer months to train over the fences so has to be respected for a first outing over jumps. SIRCOZY receives the nomination having taken well to hurdling and winning here on jumps debut. Although he is unexposed over this sort of trip we take a chance that he can win again.
