Yair Hill looks relatively slow so the drop back in trip looks against him and preference then is for BLUE DEER with Fallon up for the first time. Although behind Marked Card at Brighton, and comfortably so, Mick Channon's colt is fancied to turn that form around with the ground in his favour. Marked Card has the edge at this stage but his Chester run on soft ground suggests he might prefer quicker ground and so a bigger threat might be Red Mercury who shaped with promise at Warwick on debut. The Shamardal filly Al Mayasah needs consideration with William Buick faring well when riding the David Simcock runners this season
