Verdict
Not many of these have realistic claims of winning this poor contest. Among those worthy of a mention are Nerys Dutfield's Dizzy Tart. Nothing out of the ordinary on the level, the daughter of Definite Article opened her account over hurdles when beating Diamond Darren by three lengths over course and distance at the end of September. While this is no tougher a subsequent defeat at Kempton suggests she may struggle under a penalty. Mark It was of a similar ability on the flat and strictly holds Mrs Dutfield's filly on Kempton running. However, neither make much appeal at the forecast odds. Aunt Hilda has earned a miserly rating of 75 after her four starts and may do better in handicaps. Newcomers Bualadhbos, Hamunaptra and Silver Charter would need to improve on their flat form to take a hand here and the TEAMtalk vote instead goes to Sloane Street. Sent off favourite for the novice hurdle at Wetherby won by Tim Easterby's Tunstall, the ex-French trained gelding was weakening when falling three out. This represents a drop in class though and he looks worth chancing under Tom Scudamore.
