Verdict
Jonjo O'Neill may well have found a good opportunity for Fundamental, who gets our vote. The four-year-old has more scope for improvement than most of the other runners and a pipe-opener at Worcester recently should leave him fit and ready now. An Ayr novice hurdle winner last season, he has raced only once on going over jumps that was not on the easy side but, hopefully, that will not present a problem today. Derryquin also won his novice hurdle last year but lacks a recent run, which could play into the hands of the selection, while Gregorian is nothing out of the ordinary and looks beatable off top weight. Pailitas, who won a seller over course and distance, comes here peachy fit and looks the one to give Fundamental most to do.
