In depth

Verdict

Larry has been showing promise in novice company and doesn’t look overburdened on his handicap debut but it may be worth sticking with CLOTH CAP. The top weight got off the mark over course and distance last month and looks the one to beat again if handling the easier surface. Penn Lane is unexposed but has a lengthy absence to overcome, though that is not usually a problem for one from his yard. Early Retirement was only beaten a length at Wetherby when trying to follow up a win at Southwell and Grand Turina also has a squeak. First Assignment looks the pick of the remainder having only raced twice so far over timber.
