Verdict
Avebury the winner of two novice events, tackles handicappers for the first time. While he is open to improvement, it looks as though the Handicapper has taken no chances with him. Night Fighter turns out under a penalty having won at Cartmel on Saturday, but he reportedly finished lame, so that must be a concern, while Running Man, who looked a useful novice chaser when last seen, will surely need this after a long lay off. Bering Gifts is not one to place too much faith in, but if he is on a going day, he is more than capable of making his presence felt.
