Verdict

NEW YEAR'S EVE is likely to prove a popular choice. He was having his first start since February when runner-up at Stratford earlier this month and John Ferguson's charge can open his account over timber with that run under his belt. A similar case can be made for Golanova, who also finished second on his return to action at Fontwell, but the selection's stablemate Beachfire looks to need a bit more to figure in this. Edmaaj was well beaten in both starts over hurdles early in the year but improvement is expected this season.
