In depth

Verdict

Thievery can pinch this race from Barton Sun, Sitting Duck and Amir El Jebal. Henry Daly's charge is still off a platers mark and having finally got his head infront at Hereford, if he has taken to the idea of winning, he is at the right end of the handicap to repeat the dose. Barton Sun failed to land a gamble in a ladies' hurdle at Ludlow but is an entirely competent chaser if everything goes his way. Sitting Duck does not seem to complete too often but he is not devoid of ability and the market is watched to see if he has shown anything at home. Amir El Jabal hasn't sparkled as yet since joining David Pipe. He will need to avoid the mistakes that have punctuated his British rounds thus far. Adecco produced a rare blip at Lingfield on heavy going but he is generally consistent and should give a fair account of himself here. Oiseau De Nuit hasn't shown a great deal over hurdles and capsized when held on his last start. It could be that hurdling was a pre-cursor to a career over the larger obstacles. Jazz Dance and Tarongo are watched in the market upon return from absence. A competitive affair and Thievery looks the best option.
