In depth

Verdict

Great Approach showed improved form for the step up in trip when successful at Catterick last month and, despite a 7lb rise since then, he still looks the one to be on with the main threats looking to be Minster Shadow and Crofton. The last mentioned begins his handicap career off a low mark and could be of interest with the yard of Ferdy Murphy amongst the winners. Cavers Glen has claims on the best of his form but is inconsistent, while stablemate Thatlldoforme has similar claims but also remains a maiden. Tobesure has dropped back to a winning mark but is hard to recommend on recent evidence and of more interest may be the consistent Minster Shadow, who is entitled to be thereabouts again. Great Approach has solid claims though and is taken to win again.
