Verdict

Harry The Viking and Neptune Equester have won the last four renewals between them for Sandy Thomson’s yard but Caventara faces a more difficult task than when making a winning reappearance over these fences last month. Total Assets and Dawson City were both well beaten in this last year while recent winners Bigirononhiship and Terry The Fish won easier races on their latest starts and Just Your Type came out best in a match at Hexham. Anteros failed to land a four-timer in a Listed handicap at Cheltenham and soft ground is a worry for him but a bold bid is expected from BAFANA BLUE (NAP). The latter notched-up a hat-trick when left clear at the last over 3m at Ayr recently but is progressing well and a 6lb rise may not be enough to anchor him in this. Big River may improve on his second start after wind surgery while Brian Boranha is not badly treated on his best form and is preferred to No Hassle Hoff.
