Verdict
Some old favourites here for Kelso racegoers to consider, not least the prolific Weaver George. The veteran has enjoyed four course and distance successes at the Scottish track, including his last three career wins. With such a strong record in his favour, plus the fact that he is still on a handy mark, he gets the TEAMtalk vote - though on a cautionary note he wouldn't want it to get too soft. Direct Access is another course winner, and he will relish the cut in the ground, but he does have major stamina doubts over this trip and with a big weight to shoulder he is passed over on this occasion. Robbo is definitely a character and is another to have enjoyed success here. He is undoubtedly the class horse in the race, having contested numerous valuable handicap chases, but he is very difficult to win with and does not inspire confidence as a betting proposition. Ferdy Murphy thinks a lot of Historg, but so far the mud lover has not quite perhaps lived to the words of his trainer. Having said that, at seven he still has plenty of time on his side and certainly looks a nice sort and if he can jump well around here then there is no reason why he can't have a say in the finish. Of the remainder, Scotton Green would probably prefer an extra mile or more, Interdit could go well off a light weight though would appear to want it faster underfoot, Impertio will love the ground on the other hand but still looks exposed, and you cannot rule out Hades de Sienne - who has some decent form here without winning - and whose owner and trainer combination are in brilliant form at the moment.
