Verdict
Speed Kris caught the eye last time and is the pick over Political Sox, with Assumetheposition and Tobesure expected to be involved. Speed Kris is still a maiden after 21 career outings, but is starting to get the hang of things judged on latest efforts. Sue Bradburne's inmate has been placed on each of his last three appearances, including when a rather unlucky second to Commercial Flyer at Perth where he was checked in his run when making headway two out. He and Political Sox met at that track last week with the selection beaten three-and-a-half lengths in third, but the weights greatly favour Speed Kris this time, and he can safely turn the tables on Ron Nixon's 11-year-old. Assumetheposition was a game winner in heavy ground at Newcastle in February but will find this faster going against him, and Tobesure is a light of former days, although he still appears game enough. This should concern the top two on the racecard, with Speed Kris taken to come out best.
