Verdict
A terrific way to end the card and the selection of Colourful Life is made purely on the grounds that the gelding is a very consistent sort that has held his own in the face of some very stiff tests over the years. Out of the rest: Xellance, Mirjan and Carlys Quest have all been in good form of late and are hard to split out of those that are likely to head the betting market - while Dancing Bay could be very dangerous if he takes this much longer trip in his stride. A mention must also be given to Isard III, who ran a good ace behind Kivotos at Haydock last time and has to be considered on that run alone. However, Colourful Life, who made an uncharacteristic mistake when unseating in that same race, is better judged on the majority of his previous form; which gives him very solid claims of causing a minor upset at the likely prices. Mary Reveley's charge acts on the ground, should handle the course and has every chance of confirming the opinion that there are plenty more races to be won with him.
