Verdict

Elvis Mail had been racing on testing ground before taking advantage of good going to win very decisively over the course and distance last month. He's improving fast and with conditions in his favour will take some beating. Northern Soul won a Market Rasen bumper in April and after a poor start over timber came good for a hard-fought victory at Wetherby, where he had Classic Seniority a long way behind. There's no reason why he shouldn't also go well though the winners have to concede 6lb to the newcomer ERIK THE RED and that may prove beyond them. Kevin Ryan's four-times Flat winner has a Turf rating of 96, normally good enough to ensure a decent level of form over timber, so he's taken to make a successful debut.
