In depth

Verdict

A wide open contest gets proceedings under way and many would gave chances on their best form but the principals look to be Fencote, Bishop's Bridge and Bollin Thomas and the confident vote is given to Fencote,. The selection was a good second last time out behind Portavadie. That sets a decent standard in the context of this race and under conditions that suit he need only run up to that mark to score. Bishop'sBridge rates the main danger on his latest run which saw him finish in mid-division in a better race behind Conroy. This looks easier but his best efforts have come with more cut in the ground so he is passed over on this occasion. Bollin Thomas is another worthy of respect on his latest fourth behind Overserved but he gave the impression he would be suited by a longer trip on that occasion and he is overlooked here. King's Protector has had plenty of chances without taking one while Tandava does not appear to stay this far. Of the remainder Quarry Island is from a yard in form and should be noted in the market but for the winner we return to Fencote.
