Verdict
Monzante gets the vote here, with Racing Times, Fever and Maslak seen as his main rivals. Monzante caught the eye on his Newbury debut last month, finishing to good effect in third behind Aqmaar. That was over seven furlongs, and this step up to a mile looks just the ticket for Roger Charlton's gelding. Racing Times probably did not last home in the softer ground at Salisbury, and as this will be his third career outing, Brian Meehan's inmate will know that bit more now, as will Fever. The latter faced a tough task when third to the odds-on Mariotto at Sandown and should go well, but the feeling is that he might prove more effective over seven furlongs at present. Maslak was very, very disappointing at Nottingham 17 days ago, finishing last of five, and although he should be given a chance to atone, we certainly would not want to risk our money on him at present. Monzante may have the most scope, and is saddled with the vote.
