In depth

Verdict

Blue Mountain was only headed close home by an odds-on favourite when making his debut on soft going at Chester but the winner and third have not franked the form. RED OCTOBER was slowly away when runner-up over this trip at Salisbury last month. He looks as though he will stay further than this but has every chance of opening his account if getting away on terms today. St Peters Basilica is certain to improve on his run at Ascot last month when held up well off the pace and Brian Epstein took a step forward last time at Chelmsford. Mondain is by Dubawi and a newcomer to note along with Waterfront.
