Verdict
Alan King's Windross has disappointed in two starts since winning at Stratford and is probably best watched for the time being so this may be best left to the four-timer seeking Longshanks, who is given the verdict over Gladtoknowyou. The last mentioned has the beating of Lannkaran on form at Wincanton last month and has to be respected but Richard Rowe's gelding has had his problems and may not be one to rely upon. Henrietta Knight's Creative Time lost no caste in defeat behind Magical Bailiwick at Ludlow last month and is entitled to step up on that effort, while Stormyfairweather is undoubtedly better than he has shown this term but does not seem to retain much enthusiasm for the game. Celibate has a good record here but is on a long losing sequence and a bigger danger may be Radcliffe from the stable of Venetia Williams but the vote goes to Longshanks. Kim Bailey's gelding is in the form of his life at present and, despite the rise in the weights, is the logical choice.
