In depth
Verdict
Desert Light lines up in form and can add to his tally over Scuba, with Seneschal and Louphole others to consider. Desert Light has won two out of his last three races, at Wolverhampton and Lingfield, and off his current mark still appears capable of gaining another victory over a trip that suits him. Scuba just looks a little high in the weights but his win at Wolverhampton shows that he handles this type of surface so he has to be respected. Seneschal is very well treated compared to last year and has the assistance of Jamie Spencer, while Louphole is now rated in the 60's, so cannot be discounted lightly. Perfect Solution did her paddock prospects no harm by opening her account at Salisbury last August, and it is interesting that James Toller keeps her in training, and even more eye-catching is the booking of Frankie Dettori. She may start at a big price and is worth considering for the frame at least, but we shall stay loyal to Desert Light who has conditions in his favour.
