        Verdict

        Blinkers may sharpen up PEPIN and from a good draw we will gamble on the necessary improvment; the shortlist consists of Sills Vincero, Rocket Ruby and Flamboyant Red. Derek Haydn-Jones' son of King Charlemagne is related to several sprint winners but he needs to improve on four runs to date. One consolation is that he has been allotted a paupers mark for handicaps and if there is any support in the betting this evening then it may pay to take note. Flamboyant Red ran a good race in defeat last time out but has a hard task at the weights, so a bigger threat may be Sills Vincero. Derek Shaw's daughter of Piccolo ran a fair race last time behind Kheley and it wouldn't be a big surprise to see her break her maiden tag today. Kina Jazz has shaped better of late, whilst Paul Howling doesn't often leave the money behind when they fancy one so a market move for Shirley High who returns from a two month break would be worth noting. Buckle Up and Private Passion are two more to consider after absences, but the nomination in a tricky finale goes to Pepin.
