In depth

Verdict

Lodi is out to get the losses back and can do so at the expense of Master Of Arts and Paco Boy to name but two. This does not appear to be a strong maiden on paper, and connections of Lodi will be fairly confident of collecting after the juvenile's promising efforts at Newmarket and Newbury. The son of Bertolini ran out of steam at the Berkshire track 12-days ago, finishing a close third to Perfect Act, and this drop back to six-furlongs is just what he needs at this stage of his career. Entered for the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy this autumn, he is the one to beat today. Master Of Arts has had two quiet runs so far, and will be handicapped after today, so is worth bearing in mind when put down that route by his shrewd trainer. Richard Hannon is double-handed with Follow The Band and newcomer Paco Boy-the market will reveal which is the more fancied perhaps, but the latter is obviously less exposed. The rest appear nothing out of the ordinary, and for the winner we return to Lodi.
