        Verdict

        This is a poor contest to get proceedings underway and the shortlist contains To The Dance, Sharps Gold and Seventh Cloud and the vote is given to Sharps Gold. The selection has a good draw and he has shown a fair level of form in his three runs to date. The drop back in trip should suit and with the talented Luke Morris taking a handy 5lbs off his back he should go well. To The Dance looks the main danger and his yard do well with their 2-year-olds and he won't have to be anything special to make a winning debut in this lowly grade. However, the fact that he is making his racecourse bow at this level would suggest that he is not very good. Seventh Cloud has had plenty of chances and although she has yet to get her head in front, she has been knocking on the door at this level. Stars In The East was quite well backed at Wolverhampton on Friday night but he finished a one-paced third behind Bahamarama. He is possibly worth noting in the market again, but Sharps Gold looks a more solid bet and he gets our pick.
