Verdict
We think the winner of this contest will come from a trio of Cave Lion, Premier Danseur and Titan Triumph, with CAVE LION the pick. The selection is the only course and distance winner, so we know the track shouldn't present any problems. That was at the end of last month, and despite a six-pound penalty he remains well in at the weights. Premier Danseur has won over this distance on good ground at Pontefract, but steps back from nine furlongs to the mile after his last couple of runs, and Mark Johnston puts blinkers on him for the first time. Titan Triumph hasn't won for nearly a year - that was at Lingfield - but he's been knocking on the door again of late, particularly last time out a fortnight ago, when third in a decent handicap here. It's a competitive contest, but if at his best we think it'll go the way of Cave Lion.
