Verdict
River Rye's the selection here, ahead of Missile Dodger and Red Humour. Richard Hannon's filly is more used to 5 than 6 furlongs, but she's capable of making this trip. Although she's not been able to build on a win second time out at Windsor, a handy draw here could help. Missile Dodger was second here last week over this distance; a poor start probably cost him any chance of victory. He's not been able to consolidate following a debut success, but has raced in much better company. Top weight and a high draw could conspire against Ralph Beckett's charge. Red Humour won over 7 furlongs at Lingfield last time out in what was his second run; expect him to be prominent here to try and counteract his draw. Our pick though, in what's a tricky looking contest, is River Rye.
