Verdict

Cold Turkey took advantage of a lenient mark last time but a 6lb loftier perch in a better race makes life tough and the ten-year-old is passed over in favour of POCKET TOO, although a bold bid from Coda Agency would come as no surprise. Matthew Salaman's gelding is a course and distance winner and has been in good form of late over hurdles. His mark of 67 is 7lb lower than his last win on the flat (almost two years ago) and he is fancied to add a fifth all-weather win. Calzaghe is a well-bred gelding who needs a market check for a shrewd yard, Coda Agency is just 1lb higher than when winning here in February, whilst Uncle Eli is unexposed on the flat and is not to be ignored. Sunny Spells is yet to prove that this trip suits, Attainable is an interesting filly now stepped up in distance, whilst the well-handicapped Mountain Forest looks more of a danger than fellow recent winner Delorain although he beat little of note last time out. Pocket Too is selected, but not with much confidence.
