Verdict

Quiet Mountain has shown improved form for Ollie Pears in winning his last two starts, latterly in a Newcastle handicap, but he has gone up 4lbs for that success and may struggle to complete the hat-trick with a better bet looking to be HARTING HILL, who gets the vote with Co Dependent rated the best of the rest. The selection has struggled against the handicapper since winning back-to-back races here around the turn of the year but Marcus Tregoning's gelding ran much better when a close second to Mambo Spirit here last month and he looks worth siding with. Tony Carroll's Ermine Grey has been running consistently well and should be thereabouts once more, while Musashi is probably a shade high in the weights. Jamie Osborne's Co Dependent has shown improved from of late but remains a maiden, while Tous Les Deux has slipped to a fair mark but is little better than plating class these days. Several of these have claims but it is Harting Hill that gets the vote to resume winning ways.
