This is not the strongest of races but the step-up in trip may suit LALIKA. She stayed on last time over two furlongs less and this could be the ideal distance. Clive Cox's participant looks like she may be handy off this mark and the opposition is weak enough for her to take advantage. Kingston Folly and Rhythm Stick have both performed poorly in maidens but their respective trainers may well have had an eye on finding a nice handicap mark. They could prove markedly better now switched to handicapping. Mary Helen has won here before and has strong claims after a respectable runner-up placing most recently. Miss Whippy is also a threat off a mark just 2lb higher than the last time she won.
