In depth

Verdict

KATMAI RIVER landed a double on the Polytrack in March and though he only finished fourth, he was beaten less than a length off today's mark over C&D on his penultimate start. Mark Usher's charge gets a tentative vote in a wide-open contest. Stoneacre Gareth also registered a double earlier this year but in a lower grade and he's 9lb higher now, while Spinning Ridge appears to have gone off the boil since winning twice in March. Foxtrot Alpha has every chance judged on her turf form and Onceaponatime is another to consider back over a longer trip.
