Verdict

Nicky Henderson has sent out two of the last three winners of this. The race has been divided this year and the Lambourn handler has ended up with four in this first division, though interest is likely to be centred on PEPPAY LE PUGH. A fast-finishing second behind a subsequent winner at Market Rasen last May, he can make the most of that experience today. Thomas Shelby is a half-brother to a winning hurdler and looks the pick of Alan King's two newcomers while Ridgeway Flyer could be another debutant to note. Cheltenam De Vaige made much of the running at Warwick last month but may struggle to dominate here.
