Verdict

GOLDEN BIRTHDAY is quite well regarded and can thwart the Henderson hordes in the second division of this bumper. He was sent off a hot favourite for a Punchestown contest in October but ran in snatches and found one too good. Now with Harry Fry, he can go on to better things. Walt got to within half-a-length of Shanandoa on his debut at Lingfield in December but it was very much on sufferance and the points winner Stowaway Magic looks a better long-term prospect for his yard. Onthewesternfront showed definite signs of promise at Newbury and will know more today and he's preferred to Catterick runner-up Sungai Long of the others with experience.
