Gary Moores' BRIDGEWATER BOYS is one of two of the strongest selections on this Kempton card and should prove too good for challengers Ryedale Ovation and Yakimov. A win over distance on the Polytrack of Lingfield last time Ryan Moore again partners the gelding for this step down in class from that run. 25 of his 47 runs on the all-weather have lead to placings ten of which have been golds and the seven-year-old campaigner was a course and distance winner in January. Plenty of winning form in this class is always a bonus and considering his last outing came after 101 day break you'd expect him to be in even better shape this time. Ryedale Ovation found the step up to this trip last time exactly to his liking and scoring over course and distance. Inconsistent form prior to that means his claims aren't as strong as the selections but he does like it around here with his three all-weather victories coming at Kempton so he shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. Yakimov is an interesting contender with all of his decent form coming on the fibre sand at Southwell, which has to be treated in isolation. Previous attempts on this surface have been met with disappointment although there is some turf form which suggests he could well go on Polytrack and he is certainly an animal running at top form at present. Kingsholm has a small claim also after a win over a shorter distance at Wolverhampton in September but all the signs point to victory for Bridgewater Boys.
