Verdict
Supreme Developer has been largely disappointing over fences but finally came good when successful at Newcastle last time, however, Ferdy Murphy's gelding faces no easy task giving weight away to Made In Japan who gets the verdict ahead of Colliers Court. The last mentioned, like Supreme Developer, has to give 9lbs to the Selection and while clearly on the upgrade needs to improve further to get near the Philip Hobbs-trained gelding. Last year's Triumph Hurdle winner made a winning start to his new career when easily beating Greenhope over course and distance and was not disgraced when subsequently third in the Grade 2 Henry VIII Novices' Chase. This looks a softer race than the Sandown race and it will be a surprise if the five-year-old cannot resume winning ways. Stablemate Pak Jack, who was pulled up on his reappearance, and Argamia are difficult to recommend in a race that is expected to go to Made In Japan.
