Verdict
Bon Nuit is preferred to Tarfah although Royal Alchemist should not be discounted. Geoff Wragg's filly won the listed Distaff Stakes at Sandown Park last year and was highly tried throughout the course of the season. Tarfah ran well in the Windsor Forest Stakes at York. She was not seen out since that race so the market should provide most clues as to what she has shown at home. Royal Alchemist has only won once from 14 starts - effective over 1m2f; this is a serious drop in trip. Salamanca won a fair handicap at Newmarket last year. She would have made more appeal had her yard been in better form. Violet Park belied her big odds to finish second to St Andrews in a listed handicap on soft going at Newmarket. Quadrupa was second to Common World in a listed race at Dusseldorf. The fact that Frankie Dettori is riding should ensure that there will be plenty of support in the betting ring. Bon Nuit appears the class performer on paper and we shall stick with her on the track also.
