Verdict
We were tempted to side with Idesia but have opted for Eagle Nebula with Affrettando and Jill Dawson others of interest. Not many of this field can be ruled out with confidence but we are prepared to take on the penalised Jebel Ali despite his good record on artificial surfaces as all of his form has been at ten furlongs. The selection tried that trip on debut but has shown better form at shorter trips since then and comes into calculations on the form of his course and distance second on his penultimate start. This is competitive and he didn't look too keen last time but he ran on quite well when the race was over and the fitting of a visor may just do the trick. Idesia hails from a yard in great form but it's offputting that her two starts in handicap company have been over ten furlongs despite there being plenty of speed in her pedigree. The drop in trip may prove to be the answer but we'd have preferred to see her start out at this distance. Affrettando is another visored for the first time and his chance hinges on his all-weather form which is better than anything he's achieved on grass. A mile should suit and the yard's horses are running well in the main. Jill Dawson went close to winning on her sole start on the all-weather and she could go well at a price if able to recapture that sort of form following a disappointing showing on turf last time. There are some with more obvious claims but we're prepared to take a chance in an open heat and will take Eagle Nebula to take the honours.
