In depth
Verdict
Straight Face will appreciate the drop in trip, Grizedale is respected but this is likely to be run at a fast and furious pace which could play into the hands of Jessica Wigmo. Tony Carroll's mare is 3lbs higher than when winning here in April but is clearly well suited by the demands of this circuit and should get the strong pace that her hold-up tactics require. Mark Coumbe gets on well with her and she appears to be running into form. Grizedale ran well on his belated all-weather debut and must have claims racing from the same mark whilst Quaglino Way and Straight Face may both make bold bids from the front. The latter led well into the final furlong over a mile here last time only to fall in a heap within sight of the line whilst the latter may need a little more assistance from the handicapper. This tricky finale may go the way of Jessica Wigmo.
