In depth

Verdict

Rowan Rio gets the nod here, ahead of Jadaara and Reclamation. Willie Haggas' gelding won his only other outing over this distance in February, overturning an odds on favourite at Lingfield. He may again look for something else to make the running, That's the case too for Jadaara, also looking for a second successive win. Her previous one came at Beverley over 7 furlongs, but Mark Johnston clearly feels the step up in trip and switch to the all-weather is worth making the journey for her first outing since August. Sir Mark Prescott's Reclamation finished strongly to win at Wolverhampton last month over a slightly shorter trip, but the signs were there that a step up could be on the agenda. But marginally getting our verdict, is Rowan Rio.
