La Columbina is taken to score here over Bermacha, L'Etincelle and Recast. The selection hails from a top yard and she has shown promise in each of her three runs to date. She wasn't beaten all that far in third behind Spell Caster at Chepstow last time and from a good draw she can finally get her head in front here. Bermacha finished fourth behind Gin Genereux at Wolverhampton last time on her nursery debut. The key to her chance today is the step-up in trip as she has looked in need of further on each of her runs so far and she has to be respected now that she is upped to a mile. L'Etincelle finished in mid-division at Folkestone last time and she is still open to plenty of improvement so this Henry Cecil-trained filly has to be afforded respect, although she will need to step-up on what she has shown so far. Recast is a stablemate of the selection but she looks the second-string today based on jockey bookings. We will therefore stick with La Columbina to lead them home.
